Support along the way
You’ll have plenty of support throughout your time with us, starting on day one with your induction. This is your introduction to Barclays and your chosen programme, plus a great chance to meet the graduates who will be part of your support network over the coming months and years.
Mentor and buddy
We assign you a mentor – someone who's a successful, experienced member of the team you're joining. They'll be on hand to advise you on career choices, introduce you to our senior people and help build your understanding of our business.
Early on, you'll also get valuable support from your buddy. This will be a recent graduate who's there to help you find your feet and make the most of the opportunities as you go through the programme.
Professional qualification
Support also comes in the shape of more formal learning. You'll spend the first three years studying towards your professional accountancy qualification – the ACA. As well as paying for the course, we'll make sure you have the time you need for study, particularly around exam time.
Strategic briefings
To keep you up to date with what's happening across Barclays, we run bi-monthly strategic briefings. Delivered by senior people from around the business, these give you an overview of the organisation and help you decide on your long-term career path.
Ongoing development
Once you've completed your programme, we'll give you a budget of £2,000 to spend on self-development. Your line manager will help you pick out the training that's right for you and which also fits with the needs of the business.
