Support along the way
We encourage everyone at Barclaycard – including graduates – to take responsibility for their own development. At the same time, you can count on us to give you all the tools and support you need to reach your potential, including:
- A structured development plan across your 2 years looking at your career goals and what you need to get there.
- Support to study for professional qualifications in conjunction with your business area.
- A training budget to spend on your personal development. This could cover a range of topics from a cultural awareness course if you are asked to work overseas or an advanced Excel course to improve your systems knowledge.
- Elective courses you can select over the course of your programme looking at your key areas of development. Some examples include Project Management; Building Commercial Insight and Managing Meetings. Your line manager will work with you to identify which courses are right for you.
- Quarterly forums with your graduate team and your graduate colleagues where you take the lead and identify what you want to hear about.
- A Buddy who is a current graduate who will help you find your feet and be there with day to day advice.
- A Business Sponsor from our leadership team who will oversee your progress and coach you through your programme. They’ll make sure you get the exposure and opportunities you need.
- The Graduate Team who will support you and work closely with you to ensure you gain the most from your 2 year programme.
